New Around Here?

The first day anywhere can be intimidating. Where do I go? What do I do? Where are the bathrooms? Hopefully this page can help.

We want to ensure that your time with us is as enjoyable as it should be. We've answered a few of the most frequently asked questions here and are very happy to answer any others you may have. Please feel free to contact us using the information on the contact page if you do not find the information you are looking for or if you would like to talk to someone.

How do Sunday mornings look?

As you enter the church a few people will be there to greet you and can help you find where you need to go if you need help. If they can't answer your question they can find someone who can.  In the center of the lobby is a table with our individual wrapped communion. Grab one if you are a believer.

Our service starts at 10:30 but don't feel bad if you arrive a little late.  You can come on in and sit wherever you like, and bring your coffee if you like.  Our service ends at 11:45, unless the guy preaching feels a little long winded that day (ahem....points at preacher).

We have a live band for worship.  You may notice that it is made up of people from different generations. We encourage everyone from our students to our elderly to participate with whatever talents and gifts they have.  We sing both modern worship music and contemporary hymns, so there should be something for everyone.

What Should I Wear?

Some people can get caught up on what they wear when coming to church on Sunday.  Here at South Jeff we want you to be comfortable. Most people dress casually; however, we have people from different backgrounds that have different styles and tastes in clothing. People wear dress pants and dress shirts, or dresses, and we have people that wear shorts and tshirts.  Just know you will never be judged by what you wear.

Where will my kids go?

We have programs for Nursery, Preschool and Elementary age kids during our service.

  • Nursery: We have a Nursery room that is painted with a mural of Noah's Ark.  There are age-appropriate toys, rocking chairs, and a crib in case your little one needs a nap.  All our volunteers have had background checks so you can know that your little ones are safe.

  • Preschool: Your kids will have fun as they learn about Jesus, play with their peers, and may create a craft that goes along with their lesson of the day.

  • Elementary:  Our volunteers will lead your elementary age kids in age-appropriate worship, they will have a lesson and may do a craft as well.

  • Youth age: We encourage our students to take part in the main worship service.  We have youth as part of the worship band, some youth help with the nursery, preschool, and elementary classes as well.  We want them to fill just as much a part of the church as the adults

Oh.....and bathrooms are down the hall on the right
